2004 Season

September 21st, 2004

For the last points race, the car ran great. Even though we started on the pole for the feature, we ended up 5th in the feature. Thanks to our MVS friends (Jon, Dave, Adam, Brian & others) for joing the fun,

Gene Ostrowski and the entire Tyler Jett Racing team are very pleased with the results from 2004. Even though the car counts in the 4 Cylinder Thriller class at Mountain Speedway were not always great, the team stayed focused and tried their best every week. Being a rear wheel drive car with less horsepower than his front wheel drive competitors, Geno still managed to finish in the top 5 in 7 out of 8 starts. Also, congratulations to our teammate in the #75 Mustang, Howie Bott finished 3rd in the standings.

Started on the pole & even though the car was working well, ended up 5th in the heat and feature..
Finished off the season 2nd in points. Congrats to Pat Verwys on his championship win and teammate Howie Bott on 3rd.

August 21st, 2004

It was a good day...started on the pole & even though the car was working well, ended up 5th in the feature..

August 7th, 2004

Started second to last in the feature & stayed there the entire race. It was a day for points as my wife & I were expecting any day (no need to wreck a car I wouldn't have time to fix!). Ended up finishing 8th in the feature..

July 24th, 2004

Started the day finishing 3rd in a wild heat race. I had a stomach flu the whole weekend & was really sick for the feature. Ended up 5th in the feature.

July 3rd, 2004

Started the day off starting 2nd in the 10 lap feature. There were no cautions & the # 50 grabbed the lead at the start of the event. Geno would end up finishing 3rd not far behind his two Verwys rivals.

June 19th, 2004

Started the day off starting 2nd in the 15 lap feature. There were no cautions & the # 50 grabbed the lead at the start of the event. Geno would end up finishing 3rd after leading the feature for the first timme this season.

May 8, 2004

Started the day off starting 3rd in the 20 lap feature. There were no cautions & the # 50 held on to the 4th spot the whole race & thats where Geno finished. The weather was nice & finally for Mt. Speedway, NO RAIN!!

April 18, 2004

It was pole day at Mountain Speedway. Gene was the first car to hit the track with a fast lap of 19-something....It was good enough for 3rd quick, which is where he will start in the feature on May 8th.

2003 Season

October 12, Mountain Speedway

Crew member Tom Underwood took the reins of the #50. Gene was away to CA on a trip from work. Tom started 27th & finished a respectable 14th. Not too shabby for his first time behind the wheel. Teammate Dennis Zurawski, Jr. finished 13th.

Congratulations to Ray Fitzgerald for winning the first NEETS championship.

September 20, Mahoning Valley Speedway

The car wasn't too keen on handling, but we finished the race with a 6th place finish. It's been an interesting year, but I wouldn't take any of it back. Strted on the pole in the heat race (10 laps) & ended up 6th. Started 6th in the feature (75 laps) and finished 6th. Thanks to everone for they're support & I finally got to meet "Pappy" Herman.

August 3rd, Mountain Speedway

YET another rough weekend. This time we started the race in the rain. After sliding around & pushing real bad (pushing in the rain?) I slapped the outside wall. That was ok until I spun & got nailed in the right front. Done for the day, ended up 12th. More to come................. "Uncle" Joe Zurawski finished in 11th spot for his first race of 2003 in the 57z machine.

Another rough weekend. This time we actually started the race though. Unfortunately I was pretty much overcome with heat & needed some cooling down in the pits. I want to thank all the guys who came over to see if they can help in any way, especially Jay "Gman" Garris and "Uncle" Joe Zurawski for loading the car up for me.

Also, right after I pulled in the pits I got a call to run to the emergency room for a family emergency. We'll see where this "racing thang" takes us next.

Congrats to Kevin T. He drove a great race & for the most part the racing was clean & I personally had a blast (while driving of course!)

May 18th, Mountain Speedway

What a rough weekend. First Sat. night on our way to see Matchbox 20 my Jeep broke down. Next morning (day of race) I went out for warm-ups and the water temp. sky rocketed. Wouldn't ya know The radiator decided it was time to go. We'll be back, just a little setback. It still was disappointing to have to pack up and go home.

Sorry, No Pics of this one
